A Recent Project - Cottonwood Canyon Wildlife

Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy’s Wildlife Movement Education Project is
an educational program developed to generate detailed biological information about the wildlife using urban wildlife corridors in the San Gabriel foothills and San Rafael Hills, create a website where the information will be condensed, stored and indexed, and work with schools to make that information available for use in the classroom as part of their science curriculum.  We are targeting underserved urban youth of color who don’t have the resources to visit the different sites but will still be able to track the animals and learn about their movements.

Thanks to the support of the Pasadena Recreation and Parks Foundation we have been able to begin our project by purchasing 2 wildlife cameras and installing them in a wildlife corridor that runs through Cottonwood Canyon in Pasadena; a property we are in the process of purchasing to save it from development.  .

We are very appreciative of your support and want you to know that it has had a great impact on our project!

Sincerely,
Barbara Goto
