About Us

The Pasadena Recreation & Parks Foundation’s efforts will result in expanded opportunities for the community to engage, enjoy, exercise, and explore our natural environment, recreation programs, and available amenities.

The Pasadena Recreation & Parks Foundation was established in 1979 to support the City of Pasadena with enhancing its recreation programs, maintaining its green space, and improving the health and wellness of all that come into contact with both. This foundation exists to provide philanthropic support and advocacy, in accordance with our mission and vision, that magnifies the impact of the City of Pasadena’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services resources while making green space, health equity and program access a true and tangible reality for the community.

The purpose of the Pasadena Parks & Recreation Foundation is to:

• Support the community in keeping its open spaces green and usable;
• Increase accessibility to greenspace and recreational activities for all;
• Ensure that parks within the community inspire health and wellness;
• Raise private funding to support the enhancement and enjoyment of City park, recreation, and community spaces;
• Amenities, facilities, programming, regardless of ability (ADA), socio-economic status, or geographical location.
